the moon could use a shadow
not the most complicated wall out there but you know what this is hella appealing. love the colors and the warped perspective

  2. vitaamin Elite Member 1d 21h ago

background needs to be darker imo --its blurry and you cant see anything so with it this light it looks more rushed than an attempt to make a faded background. and this is not your best painted work, the hat has no definition which makes it look flat. the colors in the hair arent the problem, i personally like them, its the overlapping with the lines that makes it look a bit unclean. and well i'll leave complaining about eyes to another wall.
the fur is fantastic though and despite the background i do like the color scheme you picked. very appropriate for christmas. you might consider making your signature more apparent, it's really small for smaller resolution computers

i certainly commend the departure from your normal multishading, it looks much more spontaneous and interesting. the background is really great and well vectored.
i will point out a few technical mistakes. those shadows running across his sweater are messy and break from the defining of shadows that you had done before it. and the strands in his hair overlap too much to really make it look like hair. vectoring hair is one of the more challenging aspects of walling because the tendency is always to overlap shadows when really they shouldnt overlap when trying to create flow.
overall though i'm very glad to see someone who has used a style so much break free from it. nice job

my only huge complaint is his hair >_> the highlights are a bit messy compared to the rest of the wall
i am in love with the bg and the perspective is so interesting.
the fur doesnt look ENTIRELY right (his right side, it looks like the fur doesnt wrap behind him) but i dont think its wrong enough to really make a big impression. i only looked because i remember you complaining about it
very nice job, definitely one of your best

always in love with your pastel colors, it always inspires me to do pastels (even though that NEVER happens)
i think her hair is a little too dark and looks lopsided but aside from that love the rest of the wall

ah you know what i really love this wall. i think the background could use a stronger gradient and the vector would have looked better with sharper edges
but despite its simplicity, its uber-effective on the desktop

i think the head is a little big and the jawline makes it look like shes a bishie.. IS SHE?
    i still love the coloring

the curtains >_< i mean they just dont match the style of the vector at all. and the yellow lighting in the background makes me uneasy, i feel like the curtains dont reflect this tone.
i think the cracked floors and stuff were a great concept, and i kind of wish you took it further and got rid of some of the curtains along the way >D

    I LOVE YOU
even if this is a smutty manga >D
    shape layer lineart plz =="

i think this is your strongest original yet.
i do feel their jawline needs to be more defined and i know you can do magical things with that mesh tool so i wish the hair had more highlights.
while i have minor complaints about the bg, im too lazy to type them out. suffice to say though that i love this color scheme you have going and the fact that you really did go all out and pay attention to detail, while pulling everything together in a cohesive piece.
    nice job

the text-texture really needs to have smaller text and smaller line-height, but i think i've repeated this enough. and i'll add like always that non-italic fonts usually beat out their italic counterparts.
i do think his face is either too dark or too pink for the purple and that his hair could use a better mix of shadows/highlights to define shape. you certainly seem to have the detailing down but i think if you take the big picture into larger consideration, you would make much stronger walls.
on the other hand i will commend your use of color in the gloves and the neatness of the painting which seems to be a rare animal lately. even if i feel more layering would have helped, i enjoy the designs on this wall =]

BTW i almost missed that this was for the contest, did you post in the contest thread >D

the colors and design are brilliant
i think the texture is really LQ though and a bit much
and his skin tone i find way too yellow and dark.
    the text is great =]

the character needs to be lighter but i actually like it in fullview

in light of how you made the gradients in the vector i think it makes sense to gradient the bg as well, i think it will help make the buildings look less last minute. i also think you should have done the buildings in layers but well thats my aesthetic.
i absolutely love the colors you used though, a much more vibrant take on the original scan. and while it might not seem the most inspiring at first glance, the color scheme is very striking.
you should submit this to vector-wallers.

oh my i quite enjoy this. love the mix of flat and 3D. i think the text would have been better with a drop shadow and maybe without the emboss but thats very much my aesthetic. not a huge fan of the way you mixed shading, going from cellshade to gradient/multishade to shadeless. i think a mix shadeless and cellshade was the way to go. meh thats on the nitpicky though
word of advice on the text in the background: lower the line-height to scrunch the lines closer, it will make it look much more professional imo.

im highlighting this at vw for its great sense of shading

you know from the thumb i thought it was some halfassed extracted wall but fullview shows how unexpectedly masterful this is. sure it doesnt have alot of creativity or whatnot BUT the vector is gorgeous and the blending of the scene is absolutely perfect. i find it difficult to find flaws and despite perhaps this style becoming antiquated/out of fashion, i have to say i find this wall much more impressive than some of the newer stuff we've been seeing

fabulous job and please continue to wall. you have a very good eye and i am excited to see what you come up with.

aside from the grey text, which i dont understand in the context of this cyan blue, well lit wall, the execution of this wall is quite brilliant

  21. vitaamin Elite Member 5d 21h ago

this isnt a bad vector, but your lineart could use work esp at the tips. furthermore the colors of your background are completely inconsistent with your foreground.

  22. vitaamin Elite Member 6d 2h ago

not bad, i like the colors you used.
the airbrushing though isnt really helping you, it clashes against the clean vector edges and results in a slightly messy appearance. gradients where you cant see the edges of the colors usually work much better for vectors like this.
and i encourage you to try shape layer lineart in the future >D

  23. vitaamin Elite Member 6d 2h ago

i think i already commented on the wall, and may be repeating myself. while you have made a name for yourself with this multishading, i still think your technique could benefit from some development. multishading looks much less stiff and more attractive when your shadows are more spontaneous and less uniform.
    keep up the good work

  24. vitaamin Elite Member 6d 2h ago

lineart isnt bad, has a messy charm to it. i think the skin could use to be a little more yellow and a bit lighter, but well thats just me >D

despite some mistakes here and there, this is a really beautiful vector
    beautiful colors
